Waterborne finish

We introduced the first waterborne wood floor finish technology to help improve the environment for both contractors and homeowners. Our low VOC formulas limit toxic fumes emitted so there's no need to vacate the home during the renovation process.

Dust-free sanding

Bona dust containment systems make refinishing wood floors clean and safe by reducing airborne dust by up to 99.8%. (Traditional wood floor finishing methods can produce wood dust particle counts of 200 times over the OSHA limit.)

Green certificates

Bona products carry various third-party green certifications. Globally, our products are GREENGUARD Gold Certified while select products are certified to be Safer Choice.

Ingredients

At Bona, we strive for complete transparency around the ingredients in our products. You will find them listed on each individual product page. However, we know there is room to be better so we are constantly working to develop safer formulas.

No animal testing

Developing our own proprietary formulas in our R&D labs around the world allows us to champion the ethical treatment of animals and commit to being cruelty-free.

Reusable materials

We reuse materials within our own production and design our products to reduce landfill clutter. The sustainable design of our Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pads are machine-washable up to 500 times, helping to protect our shared environment.

Refillable bottles

Our spray bottles and spray mop cartridges are easy to refill with our economy-size cleaners. This helps to eliminate unnecesary waste, save you money and just makes sense!

GREENGUARD Certification

Bona's water-based floor finishes and cleaning products are GREENGUARD GOLD certified to GREENGUARD standards for low chemical emissions into indoor air during product usage.

The GREENGUARD Certification standard includes health-based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to ensure that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.
